One of the things that makes these trails great is their proximity to the everyone-should-experience-them-once-in-your-life Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Ely, Minnesota. This is the place where more than 1,000 lakes push up to and into Minnesota’s Canadian borderlands. These lakes are so clear you can see many feet down. Watching a loon fishing under water is an incredible sight.
So maybe canoeing, camping, or even just shopping Ely’s eclectic downtown is intriguing to you. Or, maybe you already love the B-Dub and haven’t checked out Hidden Valley yet. Either way, consider yourself invited. On these trails, you can get airborne or keep the rubber on the ground, over nine miles of purpose-built singletrack. Clover-leaf trails make choosing the perfect loop easy. And the skill levels ramp up from a beginner course to the Ely Airlines jump line.
Progressive loops include epic climbs through majestic pines, fast flowy downhills and challenging rock features. Most trails are groomed for winter fat biking. You’ll fin connections to the paved Trezona and Mesabi Trails as well as endless gravel riding through the Superior National Forest.
